Currency Information on Bosnian Mark BAM — Bosnia and Herzegovina konvertibilna marka – KM

“Konvertibilna marka” translates into convertible mark, a reference to the German mark, to which the maraka was pegged when it was first released, at a ratio of 1:1. Since the German mark was replaced by the Euro in 2002, the marka now has the same fixed exchange rate to the Euro as the German mark does.

Maraka are divisible into 100 fenings, or feninga. Maraka currency is available in the coin denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 feninga and 1, 2, 5, maraka, with banknotes available in 10, 20, 50, 100 and 20 maraka.
