Currency Information on Hungarian Forint - HUF — Hungarian forint – Ft.

Subdivided into 100 filler, the Hungarian forint was introduced to Hungary in 1946 as part of the post- World War two Hungarian economy stabilisation, playing in imperative part in stabilising the economy of Hungary.

There are discussions surrounding the replacement of the forint with the Euro, but this will either not happen, or will not happen until the 2020’s.

Coins are in circulation in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 20 forint, and banknotes are available in denominations of 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 forint.
