Currency Information on Sao Tome & Principe Dobra - STD - São Tomé and Príncipe dobra – Db

The dobra has been the official currency for Sao Tome and Principe since 1977, when it replaced the escudo at a 1:1 ratio. The dobra was linked with the Euro in 2009, when a deal was signed between Sao Tome and Principe and Portugal.

In 1977, when the currency was first introduced, coins in denominations of 50 centimos were issued, however, due to inflation, centimo have become obsolete and the remaining coins in circulation are available in denominations of 100, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 dobras.
