Skrill (formerly Moneybookers) is an e-commerce business established in 2001 that allows payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet, with a focus on low-cost international money transfers. Skrill processes 40 currencies to nearly 200 countries. It has offices in the US, Sweden and Austria as well as the UK.

Services

Skrill offers services to private individuals and corporates:

Private – Private individuals create an account with Skrill and have the option of 40 currencies. They are then able to make payments using stored cards or a nominated bank account. Skrill allows incoming funds including gaming winnings to be switched back to a bank account or added to a prepaid Mastercard.

Corporate – Skrill allows business customers to enable their customers to pay them more easily using just an email address and password. It also has a hosted solution that allows more than 20 local payment methods and over 80 direct bank transfer connections with a single integration.

Skrill is used by a number of UK gaming companies as their payment engine including Bet365, Ladbrokes and William Hill.
